Jacquelyn Khanich received a Juris Doctorate in Law from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. She is licensed to practice in California, New York, and Texas and intends to become a qualified solicitor in the UK. Ms. Khanich is currently attending Queen Mary University London’s LLM program in Comparative and International Dispute Resolution.
Ms. Khanich has had her own practice for over five years with experience in litigation, transactional, international disputes, entertainment law, IP (Copyright & Trademark), criminal law, and family law. Ms. Khanich also contributed to the the Civil Litigation practices of several law firms focusing on high profile corporate and entertainment matters and arbitration in all arenas. During law school, Ms. Khanich worked on several high profile litigations during her summer associate position at Baker Marquart, LLP. She also received the CALI Award for Excellence in Legal Writing. Additionally, she has experience in international commercial arbitration.
As a seasoned world traveler of over 90 countries, she has have built strong interpersonal skills with people of all cultural backgrounds utilising her intermediate knowledge of Arabic and Spanish. In addition to international law and travel, Ms. Khanich loves to cook as evidenced by her win on popular Food Network show “Chopped.”
Lisa has particular expertise in bribery and corruption, money laundering, fraud, tax evasion and market abuse matters and has acted for clients in some of the most high-profile cases brought by the SFO, FCA, CPS and other UK and international prosecution authorities. Many of those cases involved complex cross boarder issues such as requests made pursuant to mutual legal assistance treaties, double jeopardy, human rights, and extradition. Lisa has also successfully challenged decisions made by different prosecuting authorities in judicial review proceedings and under the victims right to review scheme.
In addition, Lisa has considerable experience acting for clients in civil fraud and director misfeasance cases, civil tax matters brought by HMRC, as well as personal and company insolvency matters.
