Anna has a diverse background practicing as a commercial/litigation lawyer in international dispute resolution, commercial law, civil fraud, anti-corruption and human rights for governments, individuals and multinational corporations.
Following her formative years as a Mergers & Acquisitions tax lawyer at KPMG Law in Melbourne, where she provided both general and transactional advisory services to the Australian government and international clients including BP, Royal Dutch Shell, LafargeHolcim, Toll and Chevron, Anna moved to KPMG in London. While at KPMG in London, Anna delivered legal programmes at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Government Legal Department.
Anna left KPMG London to work at Amsterdam & Partners LLP. Her work focused on representing high-net-worth individuals and multinational corporations in politically sensitive matters across the UK, Europe, the US and Africa in multijurisdictional disputes.
In 2019 Anna started her own legal consultancy, Lancy Lowe & Co. Anna’s practice focuses on representing corporates and individuals with their commercial contracts and international disputes. Most recently, Anna supported a UK gold processing company enter into a gold mining venture with a Saudi Arabian gold mining company.
Anna is admitted to practice in Victoria, Australia. Anna holds a Bachelor of Arts (Global) (majoring in International Studies) and Juris Doctor (Masters of Laws) from Monash University (Distinction/First Class Honours). During her Masters, Anna worked at the World Intellectual Property Organization at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, where she drafted submissions on behalf of WIPO’s Development Agenda.
Lisa has particular expertise in bribery and corruption, money laundering, fraud, tax evasion and market abuse matters and has acted for clients in some of the most high-profile cases brought by the SFO, FCA, CPS and other UK and international prosecution authorities. Many of those cases involved complex cross boarder issues such as requests made pursuant to mutual legal assistance treaties, double jeopardy, human rights, and extradition. Lisa has also successfully challenged decisions made by different prosecuting authorities in judicial review proceedings and under the victims right to review scheme.
In addition, Lisa has considerable experience acting for clients in civil fraud and director misfeasance cases, civil tax matters brought by HMRC, as well as personal and company insolvency matters.
Lisa is well known and respected in the industry as someone who can provide pragmatic and results oriented advice.
