JODI TIERNEY

SENIOR CONSULTANT SOLICITOR

Jodi joins W Legal from regional firm EMW, after spending most of her post qualification experience since 1997, at national and city firm Hammonds (now Squire Saunders).

Jodi is a general commercial litigator and specialises in contentious insolvency, invoice finance litigation and fraud matters.

Recently, in one of the top 20 commercial cases of 2013, she successfully defended the former CEO of Madoff Securities International Limited against claims brought by the Liquidators for breach of directors' duties and fraudulent misrepresentation, claims which all emanated from the infamous Ponzi scheme run by Bernard Madoff in the US. Unusually for a defended matter, the client was represented on a full CFA allowing him access to expert legal representation which he would otherwise not have afforded.

Jodi is known for her personable, down to earth no nonsense approach.
